vicait could have been great if they actually committed to the toxicity but they backed out on it before it could really get interesting. they just made them boring again and want us to ignore that there was zero resolution to their conflict

it is so clear that they needed more time for this story. arcane needed At LEAST three seasons

act one was good... act two was alright... how did we get here

whoooo the hell decided that in this season, that had to shove so fucking much into so few episodes, that it was good idea to spend one of those few episodes in an alternate universe????

like... i enjoyed episode seven, but in a way that was totally separate from the rest of the show. it was just full of (no offense) mostly irrelevant characters and Jinx... they manic pixie dream girled her. barely even that. they just some chicked her

and timebomb was sweet and all but it couldn't make up for the fact that it felt like a waste of runtime

both Ekko and Jinx deserved more than that

every character deserved more than they got this season. someone shoot me with a tranquilizer dart

for three out of three characters who attempted suicide to end up (probably not really) dead is crazy

i am going to try to actually articulate one thing i didn't like about arcane s2, but i don't necessarily think is bad

please bear with my poor wording

the plot with Viktor and the hexcore didn't go the way i thought it would

i thought in season one, that we were starting to see that the hexcore (or the arcane itself thru the hexcore) had its own will and that would presumably be why Viktor knew he needed to destroy it and asks Jayce to destroy it (iirc)

so in season two, Jayce uses the hexcore to keep Viktor alive, Viktor wakes up, says "i told you to destroy it", bounces immediately to his future commune, and uses this new power

i thought we were going to eventually see that the hexcore was mind controlling/brain washing him like a parasite of sorts. and using the image of Sky to do it

so like, i thought the plot would be Viktor being more or less controlled to do some crazy shit and breaking free of it

could have also had potential to mirror (? parallel?) Mel and the black rose using the image of her brother to manipulate her

but alas...Viktor just, decided he's chill with the hexcore now... and everything that came after that

i never thought too deeply about this, it's just the feeling i got from act one

idk if this makes sense. it's so late and i need to sleep

one thing i am so glad for is that the music this season is still amazing. the music in s1 is so good i was afraid s2 wouldn't stand up to it. but it's been great so far
